The Northern Center Adult League Game Rules:

• MHSAA/NFHS Basketball Rules Will Be Followed.

• 2-20 Minute Halves Will Be Played, Clock Stops Final Minute Of First Half And Final Two Minutes Of The Second Half.

• Half Time = 3 Minutes. Teams Will Be Allowed Max 8 Minute Warm Up Time Between Games.

• Overtime Will Be 3 Minutes, Clock Stops Final Minute. All Fouls Carryover.  Second OT, Sudden Death = First POINT Wins!

• Time Outs Do Not Carry Over from First Half to Second Half, nor OT. One Timeout Per OT. 

• If Less than 5 Players “Make It” For A Contest, The Opposing Team Has The Option To Play With 5 Or 4 For That Game.  Once A Decision Has Been Made, It Cannot Be Changed. 

• Once rosters are submitted, players must remain with that team for the duration of season.  (i.e. no roster jumping)

• Any Less Than 3 Roster Players Show Up On Time, The Team Forfeits That Game…Subs May Be Allowed, Game Can Be Played, But Game Will Count As A Forfeit.

• Late Roster Players: Game must be started within 5 Minute after scheduled Tip Off Time.

• Players Must Play At Least 2 Regular Season Games To Play In Playoffs.  Members Must Sign In At Desk And Captains Must Report Players (With Numbers) To Score Table Each Game.

• 7 Team Fouls In A Half Creates A 1-1 Free Throw Opportunity, 10 Team Fouls In A Half Is Double Bonus And The Opposing Team Shoots 2 Free Throws. Play “Release” on FTs.

• 5 Foul Limit Per Player.

• A Technical Foul Will Give The Opposing Team 2 Free Throws And Possession. 2 Technical Fouls In A Game on one player, player is ejected, The Remainder Of The Game And Must Sit The Next Game. 3 player Technical fouls in a season, must meet with GM of The Northern Center. 4 player Technical fouls in a single season, automatic removal from leagues for 6 months.

• Flagrant Foul: Immediate Ejection For The Remainder Of The Game And Upon GM Review, May Be Required To Sit The Next Game.

• No Fighting, Will Result In Player Ejection And Suspension Of Regular Season/Playoffs And May Result In Being Banned From Facility.

• Swearing Not Tolerated.  (If The Scorekeeper Can Hear It, It Will Be Considered A Technical Foul After One Warning.  Referees Will Have Discretion.) 

• Teams Must Provide A Payment Each Week To Compensate Referees. No $, No Play.

• League/Ref Fees Must Be Paid On Time, Otherwise NO Play.

• NEW: Captains Must Sign Scoresheet At End Of Game To Confirm Final Score

• COED Leagues: Minimum 1 Woman/3 Men to start for COED leagues. If a female player fouls out, with no female sub, team must play 4 vs 5. (Captains may vote (all captains from the league) to allow a free agent from another team to "fill their" female roster slot for that game)
